LONG TERM DISABILITY

According to the Canadian Life & Health Insurance Association (CLHIA), 1 in 3 people, on average, will be disabled for 90 days or more at least once before they reach age 65 and a disability can last for months or even years. Unlike other types of health insurance, Long Term Disability Insurance does not focus on paying for costs related to an accident and/or illness, but instead focuses on replacing lost income following such events.

Long Term Disability Insurance helps ensure employees continue to receive income even when they are unable to work. BeniPlus offers standard, guaranteed issue (no medical questions or exams) coverage up to 75% of monthly earnings to a total of $3,500 per month and up to $6,500 after qualifying with a medical questionnaire.

Employers also have the option to customize the coverage amount and BeniPlus is pleased to work with our clients to provide them with the coverage that best suits their needs.

All of our insurance plans are available either as a mandatory group plan for all employees, paid for by the employer or as a voluntary plan made available to employees, to be purchased using their Wellness Spending Account (WSA) benefit dollars. Plans purchased individually are generally subject to medical underwriting.
