Major Medical and Travel

While a Healthcare Spending Account (HSA) can help cover routine, out-of-pocket medical expenses, a Major Medical and Travel Insurance plan helps to cover employees for major medical expenses both home and abroad.

Major Medical Insurance can help to pay for large medical expenditures inside the province of residence. BeniPlus offers standard, guaranteed issue (no medical questions or exams) coverage up to $125,000 per year per person per injury or illness ($250,000 maximum). This can help cover hospital expenses, prescription drugs, medical equipment or other related expenses and services.

Travel Insurance on the other hand, covers emergency injury or sickness while travelling outside of the employee’s home province of residence, whether for business or pleasure. The BeniPlus travel coverage includes up to $1,000,000 of medical emergency insurance per person for trips of 45-days or less.

Employers also have the option to customize the coverage amount and BeniPlus is pleased to work with our clients to provide them with the coverage that best suits their needs.

All of our insurance plans are available either as a mandatory group plan for all employees, paid for by the employer or as a voluntary plan made available to employees, to be purchased using their Healthcare Spending Account (HSA) or Wellness Spending Account (WSA) benefit dollars. Plans purchased individually are generally subject to medical underwriting.

Pricing: Basic coverage costs between $19.95 and $36.95 per month per employee, depending on age and family status. Pricing for additional coverage is available upon request.
